About the captain
Formal Education
In addition to his sailing and marine credentials, Jeff attended the US Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, earned a BA degree from College of Charleston and an MBA from Georgia State. This formal education, along with experience as a management consultant at Accenture, a regional manager for a marine construction products company, and as a real estate investor, gives Jeff a unique perspective to streamline processes, compile programs, and solve problems.
Racing Background
Jeff's interest in bluewater sailing has grown after years of racing around the buoys starting at age 8 in the Optimist and progressing through high school, college, and post-college racing. The most memorable regattas include winning the U.S. Junior Nationals Sears Cup, the College Sloop Nationals, Runner-Up at the Lightning North Americans, and captain/manager of a classic 12-Meter campaign for a private owner out of Newport, RI.
